Do you feel your 6 sessions achieved what you wanted them to achieve?

The last six sessions have really helped me to develop myself as a person – to grow and realise things that have had a negative impact on my life and to work through them.

What things do you feel went well in these last sessions?

Just being heard and understood was more than enough but the reflections and challenges really helped me to think about things from my own perspective and to value if the thoughts/feelings are my own and if they are indeed the feeling I think it is. For example – anger but actually I feel hurt.

What things do you feel could have gone better?

Overall, I don’t know if anything could have gone better. I am happy with the time, Zoom, counsellor interaction and the insight I have gained on my journey.

Do you feel your counsellor was professional, and the sessions were conducted professionally?

I feel that my counsellor is very professional but in that he is human and has a sense of humour. I value this as it helps to put me at ease and encourages lighter moments in the sessions.

Would you say your sessions have been good value for money?

Absolutely! I am not a drinker so I cannot compare the money to a night out but I know that a spa day is infinitely more expensive and I just wouldn’t feel I knew myself as much after.

Do you feel your last 6 sessions achieved what you wanted them to achieve?


Yes, I am feeling a lot more in control of the situation at work now, and this in turn has really helped at home too!  I am less concerned by the individuals concerned, and can handle their behaviours without letting them get to me.


What things do you feel went well in these last 6 sessions?


James helped me to look at the situations in a different way, and I suppose get things into some kind of perspective.  It was really helpful exploring both my thoughts and feelings, and how they interact, and James offered exercises and reflections at key points which were really helpful. 


What things do you feel could have gone better?


These 6 sessions have been brilliant, Im looking forward to developing my new approaches to be able to use them in other areas of my life outside of work.


Do you feel your counsellor was professional, and the sessions were conducted professionally?


I haven't had any counselling before, so I have nothing to compare it with, but yes I think James was very professional, and I have found the Person Centred approach surprisingly revealing, and James added some CBT and other approaches at appropriate times, which were also really helpful.


Would you say your sessions have been good value for money?


Yes, I'm really happy with what I have got out of the sessions, and after having weekly sessions for the first 6,  James suggested moving to a session every 2 weeks, which has maintained the momentum, but is now only £20/week! That is really good value!


Would you recommend this counsellor to a friend?

Do you feel your last 6 sessions achieved what you wanted them to achieve?


It's amazing! At the start I was feeling completely stressed and overwhelmed and everything seemed to be going wrong!  I was at breaking point!  I feel completely different now, not fixed, but certainly able to cope again. I wouldn't have thought I could feel this much better in such a short time!


What things do you feel went well in these last 6 sessions?


I actually found the way we looked at things as a picture was really helpful for me, there was the spinning plates and the being at sea in a storm, and I found I could really identify with these images.


What things do you feel could have gone better?


Not much really, I'm very pleased that I have got my feet back on solid ground and I'm feeling more able to manage all the things I have to do. 


Do you feel your counsellor was professional, and the sessions were conducted professionally?


I have had CBT in the past but I didn't get on with it, it seemed confusing and I didn't like all the questions. James gives me plenty of time and space to unwind and catch my breath, and to go at my own pace.  I feel really safe and actually look forward to our sessions.


Would you say your sessions have been good value for money?


I'm really pleased with my sessions, I'm feeling much more relaxed and able to cope, and I now have more time and energy to play with the kids, which is priceless for me.
